No practice race as strong winds keep fleet ashore

The sun shone and the wind blew and the holiday mood flowed.

It was practice race day in beautiful Bandol but during the morning the wind increased to 25-30 knots and racing looked doubtful. The sailors enjoyed the beach and the town as the temperature reached the high 20s, but it was not possible to start a race.

Just after 1800, wind had dropped enough to tempt out a few boats for some last minute training ahead of the first races on Wednesday.
